I bought these to test my homemade vinegar. They work very well as long as you follow the instructions. These strips are disposable and can only be used once, so do not try to reuse them for other liquids. The resulting test colors on the strip may not match 100% to the colors on the box or bottle, but it will give you a good idea of where the pH of the liquid being tested is. I performed control tests by dipping a strip in filtered tap water. (alkaline, high pH), 2nd strips in white wine vinegar (acidic, low pH) and 3rd strips in cranberry juice (medium pH) and gave good results.
