Love the fit and finish. They look like little jewels. They're big, which is good for my ears; i often found it difficult to get a good print with even the biggest tips. I have no problems with them and can wear them all day. So they are very well made and very comfortable. And it's great to see it in person. I have and have built many IEMs including the Noble Audio and Sennheiser IE800 and these would be at the top of my collection except that the subwoofer is overemphasized here. This can be impractical for large volumes. It's like the headphones keep popping out of your ears. I suppose I could fix this problem, but two things make it normal: First, it depends on the genre. If I use them for loud music it goes bad. But for acoustic, classical, or even jazz, they sound warm, fun, and amazing; The double bass has a visceral punch, but you can also hear the harsh vibration of the strings. For music that already had increased bass in the mix, these IEMs push the envelope to the point of pain. Another thing that makes them great is their perfect setting for very quiet listening. Because the bass is so high in these headphones, playing them softly gives you a nice, fun little kick that almost no other IEM delivers. That plus the detail you get from the BA speakers at low volumes and comfort make these some of the best sleep headphones I've heard. their way up. Loud volume lets you hear all the details, and it's also impressive when well-made devices can sound loud without distortion. For example I have Tin P1 Planar IEMs and they don't sound great until you plug them into a good amp and then they sound fantastic. Well, these mermaids can't be loud without distortion. There is too much bass and drowns out all other sounds at high volume. But you don't have to turn it up loud to enjoy it. At normal or low volume, you can hear all the details they have to offer. So I'm in a bit of a bind here. I feel like the bass is so over the top here that on some tracks and at audiophile listening levels (loud) it's almost worse than the $40 bass-boosted headphones. But then again, with the right music and at the right volume, they sound really fun and energetic, with lots of detail and brilliance. By the way, no noise. So if you're in the habit of listening to music softly, or if you like music that doesn't go tum-tum-tum-tum all the time, it's great and fun. If you're looking for an endgame IEM or need something that does it all well, I'd wait and see what Hidizs does for their next effort because they show a lot of promise. I think they will do great things. Edit: Follow-up from a year later: I'm used to bass being on steroids, yes, but he's clean. I love them for their emotional and dramatic delivery and they remain the most used headphones I own. I think I was too hard on them upstairs. After purchasing the Anemic Bass Tin T4, I realized that I'm actually the bass player. And these MS4 are bassheads for us.
