I bought this item to start a fire in my wood stove, just as cool and interesting as it isn't the best for this purpose in stoves or fireplaces etc. It is pointless for that matter, but I now use it to light candles around the house, especially candles that have burned out in the tin or jar they're in, and this item makes it VERY easy for them to make don't get your hands dirty and don't burn yourself. It's a pleasure to use as long as it's the right use for it. It's nice to have something that doesn't need to be replaced and can be recharged in the head, which is better than using fuel and plastic like most lighters, but not the best for lighting large fires like a wood stove or fireplace kindle.
