Review on 🌊 Current USA eFlux Accessory Wave Pump: Ultra Quiet, Compact, Compatible with Loop, for Marine & Freshwater Aquariums by Rebecca Arrington

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Get ready to buy a much larger pump than the one you currently use.

I bought this to replace an 800gph pump and when I set it to a constant speed it pumps significantly more water. But the problem is I didn't buy a variable speed DC wave pump to run at constant speed, I bought it to run on a sine wave. Sine waves average only half the peak flow, so they're actually only moving 525 gallons per hour. Moral of the story: buy a bigger pump than you think. In most cases you can call back if necessary. That's the beauty of a DC pump. Let's get to the pump itself. I have purchased the 1050, 2100 and the current USA 6001 controller and would give all three 4 stars. The 1050 PSU is massive. Once you've got enough gadgets for your tank and you're considering a DC wave pump, chances are you're already running out of power outlets. The power supply for this is huge and takes up several sockets. It's not like the 2100 has a laptop power supply, but I give the 2100 4 stars because it's noisy. I can hear it from across the room. The controller is not as variable as we would like. For example, if you synchronize two pumps, you cannot control the power output independently. So if you want to sync 1050 and 2100 and run 1050 at 70% and 2100 at 50% you can't. In general I'm satisfied, but I wouldn't say that any of the components are perfect.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring package
