They are very extensible.
I tied down a tarp and then put a net over it. This kept the tarp out of the wind and helped keep the tarp in place. I used two 60" x 78" nets on my 16 foot trailer and one on a long bed pickup. I am very impressed with their performance. I was driving from Colorado to Tennessee to move a pickup truck and trailer full of goods.
