This harness fits my 3-5 month old Shiba Inu perfectly. The X on the front sits low so she doesn't get out of breath as she pulls and gets excited while walking! However, there are several problems. 1) The plastic buckle on the dog's back is quite large and slightly out of proportion to the rest of the harness for the dog's size. 2) The same buckle sits directly on the dog's spine. So if you wear them all the time (to facilitate indoor training), you may find that the dog feels uncomfortable. 3) When the dog is off leash, the D-rings on the back make a TON of noise as the dog shakes from hitting the big buckle. 4) The adjustable slide buckles around the shoulder straps are not prongs, so they keep slipping and loosening on their own. Sometimes I have to pull myself up when I take her for a walk. 5) Unless the adjustable buckles are very tight, it is fairly easy for the dog to stop walking and reach backwards (which is typical for Shiba), shake its head and slide out backwards. As I like the material and generally suits the brand I will try a different Gooby X style harness to see if it fits my dog better.
