Overall this costume is very high quality for the price but be aware that the hat and shoe covers look pretty cheap. We didn't mind as we had our own but be prepared that you will most likely need a separate hat as it is VERY small (it wouldn't even fit on his little sister's head). Overshoes could have been used but our son already had black winter boots which worked better. We bought size L and it fit our 10 year old 4ft 8in very well. There was plenty of room to stretch if he wanted to fill his belly.
