The idea of having a "set and forget" device that produces a hard-boiled egg of the same consistency every time is a great idea. However, this product is far from that idea. I boiled some eggs on it hoping it would magically repair itself, but it didn't. I've cooked over two dozen eggs at different levels and they are very inconsistent. For example, this morning I put in two eggs and enough water to hard boil. One egg was perfectly done and the second had a runny center. I've tried the other two settings, medium and soft, several times and you get an egg with a core so soft you need a straw to eat it. It's a shame because I really wanted it to work. Well, I went in search of the next idea!
