I've worn Minnetonka double loafers for decades. This is my first rubber sole shoe. for balance on wooden floors and steps. It's really nice thick leather. Like a good baseball glove, once fully broken in, it will fit your feet like a glove. Be patient. I soften mine with Timberland Leather Wax. Update: For those who don't like loops on their boots, try the old camp trick and just tie your laces in simple knots.
