Review on Vintage Lamp Socket by Onite by Jesse Azuse

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A bit disappointing but still ok

These sockets are, well, sockets and yes, the sockets work and the lights come on. Hooray. Rschunimagu. But even here there were a few small disappointments. I'll admit I may have missed this in the product description, but I wasn't expecting the base of each socket to be metal plastic. I thought it was real metal. I only care about this because I changed sockets on a very cool vintage lamp and I didn't go for plastic on purpose and aside from the strength and look of real metal compared to plastic I also had a lot of trouble putting those plastic bases on to screw my .lamp. . The threads of a metal lamp never stay properly screwed into the plastic threads no matter how hard I try, which is why I couldn't screw the bases all the way onto the lamp itself, as the more their threads interact, the more it chews up and you just end up not getting in able to turn them all the way to be flush with the lamp. It doesn't really hurt, but I'm a big fan of details, so I was a bit disappointed. But the reality is they work at the end of the day and nobody but me will ever know about the plastic parts (well, you all know now too) so they're definitely functional for the price and seem ready for long-term use. So you are fine. In any case, how much more can be said about the lamp holder.
