I don't normally write reviews but feel compelled to intervene as I personally read ALL the reviews on this product before committing to this expensive ice cream maker. Personal disclaimer - this is my very first ice cream maker. I have no experience with homemade ice cream and have never owned an ice cream maker. I also don't have any friends who make homemade ice cream. I've had this machine for a few weeks and have made countless batches of ice cream. I'll be brief: -1. Great car! Well built and looks good but it's heavy so I'll leave it on the kitchen counter (which is what I had planned). It's not huge, but it's large and heavy enough that you won't want to move it in and out of the closet for every use. 2. Cool super fast! I turn on the "chill" for a few minutes before pouring it over the ice cream base. A few minutes after cooling, you will see a layer of frost. Easy to use! Just 2 buttons and a dial timer. There are some simple explanations in the manual but it's pretty intuitive.4. Some easy ice cream recipes are now included! It came out nice.5. Work like a horse! Ever since I got my car, I make ice cream every week and try different recipes from books I've found. There were days when I made 3 or 4 batches in a row and the machine rolled delicious ice cream without any problems. Each batch turned out to be delicious!6. Easy to clean! I was also skeptical (at first) about the built-in bowl and worried about cleaning it. But I can confirm the comments of others on bowl cleaning. Very easy - just use a sponge and some warm water. Several sponge and wipe rounds last about 3 minutes.7. It's not the quietest car! Talking in the kitchen is no problem, but I don't stand next to the car when I'm on the phone. A bit of a disappointment but I don't mind as it gives me delicious ice cream at the end of the day. In comparison, my blender and magic bullet are both louder, except they don't run continuously for 30 minutes. Overall this is an expensive machine but I believe in the quality of the Italian made products compared to those from Country C. This ice cream maker delivered and I have no regrets spending the extra money. I hope it lasts for years. We will see.
