I wanted to try a whistle to see if my senior hard-of-hearing dogs could hear it and would come in faster from our large yard. My husband told me NO; it would be a waste of money and they would not come to a whistle without extensive training. So, naturally I decided to try it anyway. I chose these whistles because they were inexpensive and there would be one for each of us. Guess what? On the very first whistle, both dogs hurried back up to the door as if they’d been professionally trained. Now they come to this clear and sharp sounding whistle from anywhere in the house too. They are plastic, but unless you step on one, I think they will last a long time. I would recommend them.
