We are renovating our kitchen and have removed the old fluorescent tube (1990's) above the kitchen island. I posted a photo of what it looked like after it was removed - 3 holes and a crack that needed to be repaired and refinished/painted before the new ceiling light was installed. We started by actually repairing the holes and tears and then I added the Zinssers texture over the repair. This material (with some added texture) nailed it. We have a popcorn ceiling, of course, and I kind of instinctively thought the texture in this Zinssers product might be too thin. So I found (also on Revain) that texture product you usually add to paint from Rustoleum and I mixed it with some of that Zinssers product; The combination turned out to be an almost perfect match for the existing popcorn ceiling. I did some practice on the small remaining piece of drywall before applying the mixture to the ceiling, but basically I just used a spatula to apply and then a brush to apply and draw the material. It turns grayish, but when dry, whitens. After I painted the entire ceiling, the repair and interest repairs were practically the same as the rest of the ceiling. We are very happy with this product - it worked even better than we had hoped!
