Our oven stopped working this fall because the ignition wouldn't turn on. I'm not a technician, but I was able to trace the problem to the condenser vacuum switch. This gauge helped me determine if the switch was good and the vacuum was too low. After making sure the condenser wasn't clogged, I found that the problem was partially blocked by furnace exhaust fumes outside our home. The clog was cleared and the condenser vacuum jumped from 0.9 to 1.7 inches of water, enough to close the vacuum breaker and light the furnace. The stove works great but is over 20 years old. In my experience with HVAC companies, they would say it's very old, not worth repairing and I should replace it.
