Review on 🐦 Premium Parakeet Pellets: Optimal Nutrition for Your Feathered Friend by Susan Klauder

Easy conversion to these pellets!

Now my birds love these pellets. If you want to wean your parrot off the seeds, try the method (which worked for me) of grinding the granules to a flour consistency (you can roll them out with a rolling pin in a plastic bag, it's easy to crush) and then some warm water to semi-liquid rolled oats. Then add the seeds that your birds normally eat. At first the birds will simply pluck and eat the seeds, but as they do so they will begin to identify and "taste" the pellets as a food source. Gradually reduce the amount of seeds you put in each day. That way the birds won't starve while you feed them. The whole process took only 3-5 days. Once you see them eating the kibble you can stop adding the seeds and start mixing whole kibble into the food. To be honest, adding warm water significantly reduces the amount of food outside the cage. Anything left over from the last meal should be discarded and a new batch started. Seeds/millet are now just an occasional treat and are now used as tools to tame my new parrots. I hope this helps, I didn't realize the importance of getting them in good pellets and that the seeds are actually low in nutrients. I mix these granules with another brand of fruit colored granules and they seem to like it. In fact, they resort to it when I put it in their cage!
