This tie is strong and well made except it can rust and break after months of exposure to inclement weather. While some say the clasp is awkward to use, I find the design also makes it almost impossible for a dog to turn around and open it until it's fully closed and unbroken. I have a very strong and active 45 lb terrier mix who will pull hard on the leash if he sees deer, squirrels, bears or a UPS truck and the leash and tie will keep him secure. Because of the strength of these elements, I continue to buy this product. My dog is five years old and I am now in fourth place. The clasp on the first two lines was rusty and would no longer close. Despite the impressive rubber coating, the third line had rusted through and broke half a meter from the clasp. All three times my dog ran away and took me on a three hour tracking adventure. Therefore, if you are using this good product, I recommend replacing it every year before a problem arises unless the manufacturer has a way of solving the rusting problem.
