My 5 and 7 year olds love this comb. Mainly because he looks so good. As far as it actually works, I find it smooths and detangles superficial hair, but doesn't really penetrate underneath or thoroughly comb through. So, especially for my youngest, I have to go back and untie the remaining knots. This can work well on very thin or fine hair, but not on thick hair. I think this is a good starter brush to teach your kids how to brush their own hair. They loved using it and usually my youngest cried every time we brushed our teeth. That's it.
