Haven't had mats in a very long time but so far they seem decent for my 2017 MKC and are working well/as expected. The material isn't very thick and heavy compared to some of the cheap ones I've bought, but they shouldn't do the job I bought them for. I would prefer mats with fuller coverage, reasonable thickness, and good function over heavy mats that don't reach edge to edge. The lighter material also makes installation/removal easier. When I first installed them there were a few small gaps around the edges, but it was very cold in here so it took the plastic some time to warm up and settle into place before it adjusted really well. They seem to fit better now that they've been in place for about a week and the weather has gotten a bit warmer. I have never owned Weather Tech floor mats and haven't even seen them in person to make a real comparison but value for money I am very happy with the product. Based on the photos I've seen, they're comparable to Weather Tech, which is $36 more, plus $28 shipping. There is carpet on the sides which is open but still offers pretty good coverage. Sorry the driver's side photo is so dark but my flash didn't work. Hopefully this still shows what I mean by open rug.
