Purchased due to recent smoke damage to my home. After cleaning everything and wiping down the ceiling and walls, I hung them in places with less airflow (e.g. in closets). I have them in every area so I can't tell how bad a particular area would smell without them, but I can tell rooms that have them hung don't stink. Obviously not a very scientific performance review, but I feel good enough to recommend it for a similar situation.
