Next to the blue paper filter that I replaced, this filter is a bit heavier. It's not just about the weight - it's definitely heavier there - the rubber on the bottom is heavier and slightly more resilient, the gasket around the upper is wider and more resilient than the spongy one, and the pleats are noticeably heavier and less flexible. makes the engine work a little harder, especially when the filter starts to fill up. And it fills up faster than the old filters. I'm pretty sure this filter captures a lot more dust rather than recirculating it through the outlet. This is where it really matters. On the plus side, it picks up really fine dust. The downside is that the filter fills up quicker than a dustbin and needs frequent cleaning, and the loss of suction means you'll be able to use the crevice tool after a short while - my 6hp vacuum can only use the floor tool for a short time. Time for the filter to fill up and then stop sucking. Cleanup is quick, with a few slaps on the side of the bin and a few folds and you're back in business. You can wash this filter and it will last much, much longer than a normal filter, but you have to wait for it to dry after washing. Although this item is washable (and it's so nice to watch the soup that comes out of this item), it takes a long time to dry (all day) and doesn't rise well when wet. Don't try to use this on a very wet grip - it will stop drawing after a few seconds and you'll have to clean it and wait for it to dry. I also use my shop vacuum with a sandblaster. I have a Tacoma Vac adapter and it works great with this filter. Dust doesn't fly around. Zero. Nada. zilch. The filter has only been washed a few times but so far it's holding up great. It appears to be very durable and has already paid for itself for the asking price compared to the old disposable filters. Thank you Jujupte and Revine for sending in this filter for an honest review. I hope everyone finds this useful.
