I bought this filter after my non-washable filter could no longer be cleaned. The filter fits my 4 gallon Ridgid shop vacuum perfectly. However, I still have to test the durability of the filter after washing.

First used fiberglass for grinding. It didn't let anything through, it just burned around the filter. That's a problem, if you can call it a problem. Dust comes off easily. Comes with a small cleaning brush. I hosed it down when my project was done. Looks like new!

I am planning to use this filter as a general purpose filter. I can't tell if the filter is a fiber filter or paper - I think it's a fiber filter. It's housed in a screen like the one you'll find on your K&N, so it should hold up well wet or dry. I have another one that I plan to use for most wet environments but looks like it could be used as a wet vacuum. that it can dry completely. If you don't, it will form.

Next to the blue paper filter that I replaced, this filter is a bit heavier. It's not just about the weight - it's definitely heavier there - the rubber on the bottom is heavier and slightly more resilient, the gasket around the upper is wider and more resilient than the spongy one, and the pleats are noticeably heavier and less flexible. makes the engine work a little harder, especially when the filter starts to fill up.
