I have a pet monkey named Gippetto, a lion tailed macaque that I healed after being struck by lightning in the Daintree Rainforest. Gippetto and I quickly became best friends. We loved watching the Discovery Channel together, especially a show called Finding Bigfoot, which has idiots trying to find Bigfoot (here's a clue: THEY'LL NEVER FIND HIM). Every night I feed Gippetto a pint of Bryer's Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream and put him under the Paw Patrol-style duvet in the next room. My wife was initially unsure about the whole arrangement but when she saw our friendship she quickly gave in and now we treat him like our son. Unfortunately, in recent months, Gippetto has started to suffer from nightmares. He howls horribly at night, so loud that many of our neighbors have complained. Ever since the night terrors started he has escaped from his room in the middle of the night, entered our room and turned on the fan for hours while we try to sleep. We try to play Gippetto his favorite Billy Joel song "Downeaster Alexa” but he won't settle down. When Gippetto gets mad that we're not paying attention, he slips under our bed and kicks and punches the bottom of the bed, forcing us to get up. My wife and I hardly slept and our marriage suffered as a result. I've looked everywhere for solutions but found next to nothing on the internet. Eventually I went to an online forum for monkey owners and someone suggested they use this monkey castle for their own golden snub-nosed monkey named Rocky. So I ordered a Door Monkey and tried it out. And so the door monkey kept Gippetto safe in his room. Despite punching and punching holes in the doors, the door monkey did its job of keeping the door locked all night. I would say my marriage was saved and Gippetto and I never got on very well. Now I give him TWO scoops of mint chocolate ice cream before bed and the three of us spent the past weekend watching Bigfoot together.
