Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ DRIPSTONE 500ft CAT6 Outdoor/Direct Burial Waterproof Ethernet Cable - 23AWG Solid Copper Wire - Passes Fluke Test by Haji Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ran 700 feet through garage, walls and attic with no issues. Fluke test passed. Worked fine for POE.

Using this cable for a 200 ft connection from fiber optic box to AT&T modem and for POE cameras. It suits me perfectly. The last few lengths of Category 5e outdoor cable I bought from Home Depot are weathered and degraded where they were opened. I decided to pull the cable out and replace it with a recessed one. I ended up running this cable through the weatherproof conduit in front of the house and then through the garage and attic to our data closet 200 feet away. I also ran a second cable as a backup. Both runs ran well at 1Gbps. Although this cable isn't as flexible as the internal cable, I made some jumper cables out of leftovers. Very happy with it. Due to the thickness of the jacket and the stiffness of the wires, RJ45 connectors are somewhat difficult to crimp. It just takes a little practice. 150ft runs to POE cameras also work great.

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Some small things
