Use indoors only! in Ethernet cables

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. The outer armor of the cable collapsed in the sun on the roof in a matter of months. Then the rain came. With that internal shrapnel in the cable, he kept the outer armor open like a giant water pipe. The rain dripped several stories INSIDE the cable, the pressure pushing the water up through the properly installed drip loop and straight into the PoE switch like a giant straw shorting it out. The RJ45 connectors were so charred that atโ€ฆ

The cable fails my tests. Does not support PoE

Save time and money by purchasing a real cable. Read the reviews for the 1000ft version and you will see that this cable fails Fluke's tests. In my implementation, it was 200 feet from the security camera and I couldn't turn the camera on properly. Swapped the cable for another, everything works.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Requires an AC outlet

Best quality Category 6 cable

Over the years I have run many cables in different homes. Before Revain, the cable was bought through utility companies and the quality was always top notch. Revain, which I consider to be "the world market in one place", has suppliers offering cables of various qualities; This CAT-5 is absolutely the best. The outer shell is heavy, protected from UV rays and underground work, has a "waxy" coating. This is a type of CAT used by communication companies. Inside is a plastic tag that separates the

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not as good as they say

Using this cable for a 200 ft connection from fiber optic box to AT&T modem and for POE cameras. It suits me perfectly. The last few lengths of Category 5e outdoor cable I bought from Home Depot are weathered and degraded where they were opened. I decided to pull the cable out and replace it with a recessed one. I ended up running this cable through the weatherproof conduit in front of the house and then through the garage and attic to our data closet 200 feet away. I also ran a second cable as

It's better to spend more and save time

Appears to be well finished but the inner copper shouldn't be well done. Fluke tested cables have shown that the cable will fail at depths less than 200 feet. My first 200 feet seemed to work, it just failed the test. I had a second pass for our analog phone and ran through the underground pipeline and this thing lost the signal. We have a previous Cat5e cable of the same length, no problem.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Be careful where you use it!

Use caution! Supposedly waterproof and UV resistant. Instead of the funeral I bought this for my rooftop cameras. Now, less than a year after installation, the outer cover has snapped about every 4 feet, and where the wire bends to meet the camera, it snaps. Maybe in the ground and normal, but I would not trust. And certainly not in the sun.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are nuances

FAIL! I should have known better! There are no shortcuts when it comes to installing the right cable when you need to certify it. Yes I was very skeptical when purchasing this cable but based on the description and reviews I decided to take a chance. I bought two rolls and immediately ran two runs of cable, about 200 feet each. BOTH failed Fluke testing due to near-end crosstalk (see images). It looks like the cable is solid copper. I also didn't know it was made in China. My cable installation

Pros
  • High quality workmanship
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Questionable PoE support at Ubiquiti

Honestly, the main criticism seemed to me to be someone who didn't know how to properly hook up Ethernet. But lo and behold, I only had problems with this cable in my universal system. I'm listing my network brand because I suspect this is a unique issue for Ubiquiti. While I'm not sure if this is due to my networking gear or not, the network cable I bought doesn't work for PoE. I used a T-568B and a 250W PoE switch for both end devices, but no matter what I did, none of my PoE devices showedโ€ฆ

Suitable for POE IP camera within 100ft from

I needed to replace a cable that wasn't rated for direct entry when it failed this year (2020) after a cool, wet spring. The cable runs through a drainpipe and is partially buried about 3 cm in the garden under bark mulch. This cable is designed to be end-to-end and I was a bit concerned after reading a review that said the cable would not be suitable for a POE installation. The first thing I did was build the cable to the length I wanted and test it with my camera and it works great. Pleaseโ€ฆ

Bad Experience with Dripstone Cable

Bad Dripstone Experience with this Cable Bare Cooper 1000ft CAT6 Outdoor/Direct. In November I bought two Dripstone Bare Cooper 500ft CAT6 Outdoor/Direct cables and used most in one place (home) with no problems. The following month I purchased a Dripstone Bare Cooper 500 foot CAT6 Outdoor/Direct cable and a Dripstone. Bare Cooper 1000ft CAT6 Outdoor/Direct Cable for Second Site (Other Home). In second place I used up the remaining two Dripstone Bare Cooper 500ft CAT6 Outdoor/Direct cables from
