Good extra protection

This device is a good extra protection. It requires a ground lug to function, which is rare on most computers. The UPS I use has a ground connection, so I connected the device to it. While it is recommended that the device be grounded to the computer, I actually wanted to disconnect the ground from the computer due to the voltages on the ethernet ground line. bare wire. Small differences in the neutral and ground voltages can indicate an increase in resistance of old cables or other malfunctions. These voltages caused frame drops on the graphics card and interface pauses for a split second while some static or small voltages made a connection from the computer's three-pin ground to the router's two-pin ground. and software. Sharing the ground from the computer to the UPS seems to have fixed the problem as the voltages can find another route outside of the motherboard and graphics card. Hopefully directly to the ground wire and not to other devices. In any case, this is not a solution for old cables or faulty electrical systems, but it is certainly a good way to reduce the impact on the devices connected via Ethernet.
