Easy to install with a few tips

After 8 years of ownership (bought a new 2006 xB) I finally hit the cruise control button. The Rostra 250-1755 seems to be the only xB option that many dealers installed when it was new. The device works well and I was able to install it in less than 2 hours. In general, the quality of the underhood solenoids and cruise control lever is good. The connectors leave a lot to be desired, but are suitable for this application. A few tips that may not be covered in other reviews: - When adjusting the throttle bracket for proper fork to bracket spacing, remove the bracket and rotate to retract. weak. This is much easier than trying to unlatch the adapter and twisting it. (Page 5 of the manual) - Ignore the installation instructions completely when it comes to connecting the ignition wire to the fuse box. You remove the steering wheel cover to install the pit switch and turn on the ignition at the switch. Large wire 12-14 AWG, black/yellow. Solder and tape as the tees are too small. Other than those two issues, everything else is easy. Download and study the installation guide before you begin. The photos are poor so it's difficult to make out details before the cruise block is in front of you, but it will help. The only downside I've found so far is that I hate the cruise switch location, but that's pretty much the only option other than buying a Rostra dash mount switch.
