I ordered the largest size for my 8 year old (soon to be 9) who was 9/10 years old. Fortunately, at 8 years old, she is the youngest in her class. So for the average kid it will be even shorter. Although she likes it. Very, very soft and stretchy. Underneath she wears shorts or leggings. I give 4 stars because it's short. Be sure to order a size up and just know it's very small. Comfort and looks are excellent. She also loves the swirly effect - a plus for any girl! LAUGH OUT LOUD.
