Full disclosure, I didn't use it on my pet, I used it on my beard! If you have a curly or wavy beard made out of something like steel wire, this comb is for you. I have tried many different beard combs/brushes to smooth and detangle this mane that is growing so awkwardly on my body. This comb does at least the latter, I'm still looking for solutions for the former. It's just the right size for a beard brush and small enough to keep on my couch nightstand without looking like a grooming studio. I can clean it well when I watch TV or just get out of the shower. At first it pulls, you have to move slowly, but after a few passes it is very comfortable and helps the beard to comb and not tangle. For reference, my beard length is between 0.25 and 0.75.
