I used this to connect my Sony Bluray player to the projector. It didn't come with a USB power adapter, but it wouldn't work properly without it. Without USB power, the screen goes black for a moment and then restarts. The device worked perfectly for three years and then broke down. Due to the high price compared to similar devices, I expect it to work without USB power (or come with an adapter) and last more than three years.
