I have an auxiliary heater on my car which is usually covered with a crappy 5/8" rubber cap from an auto parts store. They typically last about a year and then break, explode and spill coolant all over the engine compartment. These high temperature silicone caps are designed to protect parts during powder coating so they survive the oven with ease. I thought why not try this for the motor? Damn, they look good! They will inflate a bit under pressure as the material is flimsy but so far it has lasted a month. I drive 1 hour to work with a ridiculous 3,000ft elevation gain so my car runs TERRIBLE every day. I wonder if this thing explodes too? Hey, now I have 24 more!
