Cannot watch 4K HDR and Dolby at the same time ATMOS

I bought this splitter with the intention of watching 4K HDR videos with ATMOS audio but it didn't work for me. I have an Apple TV 4K, Sony Bravia X85D 4K HDR Ultra HD display, ONKYO HT-R693 ATMOS AV receiver with ATMOS support and three Belkin Ultra HD High Speed HDMI 6.6FT cables. I connected the Apple TV to the splitter and the splitter's HDMI output ports one to the TV and the other to the receiver. I first tried using the "Mixed EDID (2)" (0111) configuration, but with this setup the splitter LED doesn't even light up and there's no communication with the receiver unless I set that Apple TV to 1080p HDR on. which turns the splitter LED back on. When set to Mixed EDID (2) there is no ATMOS tone. I then changed the settings to "4K @ 60Hz/7.1ch" (1000) and cycled the splitter and the rest of the system. With this setting, the Apple TV says it's outputting both 4K HDR video and ATMOS audio, but the receiver is silent and the corresponding LED on the splitter stays off unless I set the Apple TV to 1080p HDR, causing the ATMOS audio to work and the LED on the splitter will light up again. So the splitter allows me to have either 4K HDR video or ATMOS audio, but not both at the same time, making it pretty useless for my purposes. I repeated this many times, trying different EDID settings and making sure the device turned off after each change. I couldn't find a way to get this to work, so I went back to using the TV's ARC port and settled back to Dolby Surround. Is there anything else I could try?
