Poor support for existing customers

The Telo device and cheap phone service were great except for two instances where they stopped working. The only troubleshooting help they offer is over the phone, which doesn't help at all if you can't make a phone call. If you use Ooma as your home or office phone, you will also need a spare phone. If you can't use your cell phone at home or in the office, you may not be able to get help. In three years of use, I had a problem: nobody could hear my voice on the other end of the line when I called. Phone call. I had to go outside and call support on my phone only for their carrier to send a troubleshooting request that I had to submit online. I recently had to replace my original Ooma Telo device due to a broken speaker and I had to call Ooma support on my phone to activate a new one. They only offer online activation for new customers. They then told me that I might have to wait 24 hours for my new Telo device to be activated and for me to be able to use my phone again. For the most part, Ooma has been a good and cheap alternative to local phone companies for home phone service, but this may not be a good choice if you really need to rely on your home or work phone.
