Try it in your area first

Installation wasn't as difficult as it could be, but I did have to call support a couple of times. The biggest problem is that if you follow the instructions, you can't "port" them until you're set up and they get your money. You will then find that you can only "port" in certain areas. I'm still waiting for a refund of the monthly prepayment as I had to go back as I wanted to keep our phone number.

Pros
  • All positives
Cons
  • Sad hardware

Ooma has patchy billing

The voice quality of the phone is poor. Nothing special. Some callers may not be able to hear you clearly. One more thing. Ooma as a company regularly doubles or triples your monthly bill and claims that you, the customer, did it. He hopes you don't notice. In the online chat of the company's customer service, the problem is not so easily solved. So keep an eye on Oom's score. close.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Very expensive

Suitable for VoIP as opposed to Ooma

Thanks to the massive bandwidth in my house (up to 500Mbps) I can stream movies and music, download almost instantly and never experience lag. Not with grandma. Uncle calls remind me of Rice Krispies. Click, pop and pop. The sounds appear uneven at best, usually with lots of digital clicks. The voice at the other input appears and disappears. And in no time the call can be ended. Also, avoid Ooma because there is NO WARRANTY and you have to pay upfront for hardware that may not work.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Expensive

Consistently poor audio quality

Unfortunately, with Ooma you get what you pay for. It was a bit confusing to set up, but after about an hour of troubleshooting it worked. I've tried the phone and the Ooma mobile app on a few calls. The sound quality was nowhere near HD. I had the best audio quality when using a cellphone over WiFi. When using the mobile app on a 100Mbps fiber connection, I kept getting the "Poor network quality" warning when I was able to stream 4K video to a TV two meters away. Ooma was only a slightโ€ฆ

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Poor support

Ordered an Ooma+HD3 base unit. The phone went into a boot loop trying to complete a required update and then hung for more than 24 hours. I called customer service and asked for a replacement HD3 phone and they fought with me EVERY WAY. Tried to tell me it was Revane's problem, not hers. He argues with me that everything is fine with the tube. Made me do all sorts of obstacles and tires before finally giving up and sending in a replacement HD3. Honestly I can't tell you how well this deviceโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Crumpled

Ooma device is great but the phone is not usable. I cut the cable a few months ago and didn't notice a difference. I successfully transferred my old phone number to Ooma and got a second number for free. Here's some inside info: At the time of signup, Ooma forces you to sign up for their "premium service" for about $10 a month plus tax. I skipped that and went with a free service where you only pay taxes. The price of the premium service continued to drop as I delved deeper into the checkoutโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Compatibility

. Will not turn on or charge. The phone is completely dead. The service itself was poor when on. Voice cutouts and dropouts, lots of call delays, and people I've called have complained about my sound. The cancellation of the service was a big problem. You cannot cancel online via live chat or email. They let you call them if you 1) wait too long 2) speak to a support rep trying to sell you more service 3) AGAIN have to wait for them to transfer you to another rep handling cancellations 4) tryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • . Many do.
Cons
  • . Some difficulties.

Poor support for existing customers

The Telo device and cheap phone service were great except for two instances where they stopped working. The only troubleshooting help they offer is over the phone, which doesn't help at all if you can't make a phone call. If you use Ooma as your home or office phone, you will also need a spare phone. If you can't use your cell phone at home or in the office, you may not be able to get help. In three years of use, I had a problem: nobody could hear my voice on the other end of the line when Iโ€ฆ

Pros
  • I'm looking forward to
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Terrible service, doesn't really work with google voice

firstly if you want to use it with google voice it can but the way they set it up is any phone service can do that. ANY VOIP phone setup can accept call forwarding. They claim that it works here by simply routing the call through your G-Voice account and redirecting your G-Voice account to this phone. This means that suggestions you use in your voice account will not work on this device. In addition, every incoming call will have your phone number. You will never be able to see your caller idโ€ฆ

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • i don't remember but there was something
