We tried using a new cartridge BUT it was not compatible with our valve. We called a plumber and ended up replacing the old cartridge with part of the new cartridge. Works perfectly. MAINLY it was user error when we installed it. If you have old plumbing and don't know what you are doing, we recommend having a plumber install this part. Blender: no problem! Overall: Great looks with brushed nickel finish. It looks very modern and I can say it will last for a while!
