Review on Upgrade Your Studio Gear with Audio-Technica ATH-M40x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones: 90-Degree Swiveling Earcups, Pro-Grade Earpads/Headband, and Detachable Cables by Tui Achara ᠌

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I have AKG K-271 STUDIO headphones. They are already 10 years old. So you just don’t want to wear them, they sound very dry, detailed and cold, they are only suitable for looking for jambs in the recording. So I decided to buy something more pleasant-sounding, suitable for home studio and to play bass and guitar in them sometimes. Listened to 4 models in Doctorhead: AUDIO-TECHNICA ATH-M40X SHURE SRH 440 SENNHEISER HD 280 PRO SONY MDR-7506 I listened to different music in them: guitar instrumental, djent, metal, jazz, K-pop. SONY did not enter right away, the upper middle was strongly lifted up, they reminded me of my AKGs in character (why do I need another one). I liked SHURE and SENNHEISER more, but somehow AUDIO-TECHNICA rolled in right away. Exactly what I wanted - fundamental bass and transparent highs. The middle is even, nothing sticks out, which is extremely important for high gain guitars. Yes, they paint the sound, but they do it beautifully. By the way, jambs are also immediately noticeable in them, especially in the region of high frequencies, so the lugs turned out to be universal.

Pros
  • Sound, 2 wires included, detachable cable, workmanship. They sit very comfortably on the head. You forget that you can not shoot in them for thousands of years.
Cons
  • Not found yet.

Got pros: Sturdy construction Replaceable cable And most importantly, a pleasant intelligible sound For me personally, a huge plus is that the ears are closed (I took it for the record) Cons below: At high volume it is a little audible to others

I've been using my ears for over six months now. Chose between these and Sinha HD 280 Pro. At the time of selection, the sinhs' ear pads seemed very large. The ATH-M40x are more compact, but inconvenient, as practice has shown. Otherwise, really great ears.

I listened to headphones for about a year, it was not possible to compare with others. SRH 840s appeared, these were immediately sold.

Pros below: Excellent clarity, dense bottom, the top does not hurt the ear, the build quality is high, everything is pleasant to the touch and looks decent Cons: Probably my head is defective, but they press when worn for a long time

For its price, it’s not bad, it copes with the tasks set, but if possible, try it on before buying.

-1 for plastic. Handsome but fragile.
