Review on 🌬️ Arduino-Compatible KEYESTUDIO CCS811 CO2 and VOC Gas Sensor for Enhanced Air Quality Monitoring by Charles Collier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for reference but not for accuracy

This sensor was very easy to set up and get started. It has a 48-hour "burn-in" period, which means you'll have to let it run for 48 hours before it gives you accurate data remotely. Even if the sensor sends more accurate data, it is not pre-calibrated. So unless you're spending hundreds on a calibration kit, your readings are for reference only and not actual numbers to use.

Pros
  • This sensor mainly uses the CCS811B chip. This is a miniaturized ultra-low power digital gas sensor that can detect a wide range of volatile organic compounds (TVOCs), including equivalent concentrations of carbon dioxide (eCO2) and metal oxides (MOX).
Cons
  • Socket required
