I love those giant S hooks. Even the small end is big enough for our current branches, but I like the big end for larger branches, don't worry about choking the trees. They are oriented to be strong and deep enough for the feeder to hang securely (S hooks in some hardware stores are shaped in such a way that the hanging thing wants to fall out when leaning on it under the weight). ). And they look way better than my hodgepodge of homemade hangers. They are also great for general use in garages and sheds to store anything with a handle or items such as extension cords etc. You have exceeded my expectations. I don't know how well the finish will weather, but for my needs a gloss finish isn't critical, so I don't care.
