Review on Logitech G300s Optical Gaming Mouse with 9 Programmable Buttons and Onboard Memory – Perfect for Ambidextrous Gamers by Xavier Xavier ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

Purchased a mouse for usage at work. When you need additional buttons but don't want to be distracted by the keyboard, having them close at hand might be incredibly useful. In addition, there is no cap on the total number of profiles that can be stored in the memory of the computer. That is to say, you have the ability to configure your actions for each game or software separately. Its light indication, which is also used to understand that the mouse has moved to another mode on a regular basis and which is also adjusted in the specifications of the proprietary software, is necessary for this. To a very high degree. For instance, in Solidworks I have buttons labeled esc, del, and ctrl installed (to select multiple objects), as well as ctrl + 8 (this takes a long time to explain, but it does the right thing; additionally, the combination is crazy; you just can't imagine buttons that are any further apart), whereas in Sony Vegas I have buttons labeled s (split track), del, space (pause/play), del, and ct The entire installation is performed without the use of a keyboard, and the actual rate of work is increased by at least 15% as a result. It is much more easy to work with this mouse everywhere because there are so many distinct programs; working without it is equivalent to working without your hands. Nevertheless, this does not work out very well in games at all.

Pros
  • The mouse is stunning, and it is of high quality. In addition, the wire itself, as well as any coatings, should be of a high quality. Because the sidewalls are rubberized, there is little chance that anything will peel off. Because it does not come in the shape of a film, soft-touch will not cover anything. The buttons have an audible and distinct clack. It should come as no surprise that all buttons, with the exception of pressing the wheel and the two buttons that are located behind it, cost more money than the others. Pressing the wheel and the two buttons that are located behind it, on the other hand, cost less money and are easier to press. The mouse moves with exquisite grace. The light guide is of high quality, and the illumination of the band is consistent throughout. The arrow pointer is placed accurately. My opinion is that the sensitivity of 2500 dpi is somewhat unnecessary, and I really don't set it in the settings. However, it may be more convenient for someone else, which is another advantage. Doing a poll every microsecond, which is a really good practice.
Cons
  • The arrangement of the buttons is not the most user-friendly for gaming. Requires retraining for effective control when all buttons are activated, sometimes you need to place not two fingers on the top of the mouse as you normally would, but three, for the side buttons to the right of the right mouse button. This is because when all buttons are activated, the mouse cannot distinguish between your two fingers and your three fingers. Problems were found in proprietary software, and in particular, if you set two or more buttons for one action, but did not set it manually but rather chose from a list of standard actions (for instance, controlling the volume, the player, or the mouse itself, its modes), then the buttons in the mouse would not work properly. The softwares combine and then transform jointly; in other words, pressing one button results in numerous modifications. The only treatment for it is to delete the profile and set it up again from scratch. I emailed the support service about this issue, and while the correspondence is moving slowly, it appears that the employees of the 2022 support service are translating my messages to the software developers. The software developers then ask for clarification, and the support service employees translate their messages to me. As a direct consequence of this, there is currently no outcome.
