New doesn't stick!

I have used this product in the past and it has stuck quite well. Sometimes I had to help out with some glue, but that wasn't bad. The last package I bought was absolute junk. It won't even stick to a plastic hanger (to make non-slip hangers) so I can't imagine it sticking to furniture at all! I won't buy anymore.
