I used a graphics card with two monitors. The graphics card I use has a DVI-I connector and an HDMI connector. So, one monitor is connected to HDMI and the other to DVI. But I had a massive power surge in the building that destroyed one of the two monitors. So I had to buy a new monitor. But I couldn't find very many monitor options that still used DVI. To be honest, I like DVI a lot more than HDMI, but since HDMI has pretty much replaced them in TVs and monitors, I decided to just get a monitor that only has HDMI ports. But since my graphics card only had one HDMI, I had to convert the existing DVI port on the card to another HDMI port. I will keep one of these two adapters as a spare. The other adapter converted DVI to HDMI very easily and worked at the maximum timing my monitor can handle (75Hz). Images look just as sharp and good on HDMI as they do on DVI. But there's a catch. No sound is transmitted through this adapter. But since my audio is going through another monitor on the actual HDMI, I still have audio on that monitor. So I didn't have to connect separate sound systems. But if you want to use these adapters, remember that you need to connect a pair of speakers to the motherboard or sound card you have installed. I am very happy with these adapters. They allow my DVI-I and HDMI combo cards to behave as if they were all HDMI ports (except for the missing audio). I highly recommend them for converting a DVI video card into a connector that accepts any HDMI cable. I haven't tested if it converts HDMI to DVI as I no longer have a DVI monitor to test with. So I can't confirm that this adapter can convert both ways.
