Good for the money

To be honest this is a good buy for the money. But if you get it, make sure you install/test it pretty quickly. My first made a little rattling/fluttering noise when it hit a certain volume or frequency range. It's almost like pulling a spring loaded doorstop and letting it "Brbrbrbrbrbrbrbr" lol. After contacting the seller they sent a replacement the next day which I thought was pretty cool of them. Props to the seller for good customer service. So to the actual unit. It's a bit heavier than its size would suggest and appears to be well built. The outer shell is metal, not cheap plastic, and the powder coating looks flawless with a little buffing. This is a nifty looking subwoofer combo that blends in pretty well out of sight. The sound is really very good! Don't expect rattling mirrors, rattling trunks, stimulating baby bass. This is an 8 inch combo subwoofer. Justify your expectations. I drive an '08 BMW X3 and I can hear/feel the bass in my seat and throughout the cabin. It adds a really nice tone to my music without being overpowering or overpowering like my twin 10-inch Alpines in my M5, but it definitely doesn't fall behind my stereo in terms of performance. Let's get to my favorite part - the installation! This unit comes with a special wiring harness to connect to the standard radio, which was my main selling point. BMW cars are notorious for having special electronics that connect together and to add an aftermarket stereo with RCA output I would have to basically rewrite my entire car. I don't think it's worth it. The wiring harness that came with this sub made it easy to install without having to rip out any wires or do anything to my car. If you don't know what you're doing SEE YOUTUBE INSTRUCTIONS! There are many, and they explain each step in more detail than the FAQ section here or the Kenwood User Guide. All in all, this thing was a good buy for a $200 sub. I recommend it, especially for those who have non-RCA stereos.
