Perfect. I mean it was just what I needed and so easy to use. I have had above-average experience with computers since about 1980. But I guarantee you won't have any problems no matter how good you are. So… a few things to keep in mind. As with any audio or video signal. Turn it on, turn it off if you know what I mean. You won't see 4K on your TV from a 30 year old VHS camcorder. You also can't stream VHS or laserdisc movies and get what I think is an acceptable end product. Maybe a videophile can do it with extra editing software and plenty of free time, but we just bought a DVD for every VHS and laserdisc movie we wanted to keep. The only movie I couldn't find on DVD was the HBO movie. However, once you've transferred all of your home videotapes, as we did, you'll have an acceptable transfer to DVD or other medium that you can transfer through your computer. Neither my Pioneer Laserdisc player nor any of my VCRs had an S-Video output. Everything was done via the RCA connectors that come with the kit. Cinch red, white and yellow from the player to the VidBox, USB included, from the VB to the computer and boom, that's it. Playback, Recording, Burning to DVD. Once again. It was a waste of time trying to convey conventional films. My Sony Handycam Mini DV had a slightly better picture for the few home video tapes I had left, but most of the home videos were on VHS. So that's it. The DVD looked ok on TV. I haven't tried changing the TV screen from 16:9 to 4:3 and I bet it will improve the picture. Bottom line...at 65 I just don't need 2 VCRs, a laserdisc player, 3 DVD players/recorders and it's all in stock. I had to keep these things for my daughter. Tapes ran out, cassettes and laserdiscs disappeared, Sony Mini DVs were sold instantly on the Internet, and other players that are now really worthless are awaiting the next hazardous waste pickup in my town. All is well! Now these video broadcasting companies might be better off. ……. but I had more tapes than money :) Call me!
