Perfect for us: Blankets and bedspreads

This quilt has its pros and cons: Pros: - The main reason I bought this quilt was that it fitted like a normal duvet to my bed royal family bed. . All other brands only offer sizes that would end up at the edge of the bed and which just wouldn't be comfortable for us. - they have a good weight for us (see also minuses) - the weight is displayed in small squares across. Cover to keep it fairly evenly distributed. The squares are made of polyester fiber and glass beads. Sometimes the fibers get tangled and I like to spread them with my fingers - weird, I know, but it's relaxing. - It's not hot! We live in North Carolina and had a 100 degree week in late May and I still enjoyed sleeping with this comforter on. We have 72 degrees above at night and we have a ceiling fan for reference. Cons: - the weight is great for my husband and I given our weight, but for smaller folks with a king bed it would be nice to have lighter options - they say it's machine washable but I think it will wreck my washing machine . Imagine a 25 pound blanket soaked in water as you try to turn. Maybe a laundry mat or dry cleaning - wish the fabric was softer. Overall, I highly recommend this weighted blanket. We both slept much deeper with the weight. In winter I like to sleep with a quilt and a duvet for the weight. I can now maintain the same relaxing weight all year round. Update: I've washed this comforter twice and it always comes back clean. However, the color has faded and the weight of the small squares seems to have shifted to one side. I ordered the recommended duvet cover but it didn't fit the comforter at all. The center braces were off, preventing it from securing properly. Plus, it's a real pain to put the cap on.
