Review on 📷 Lumens DC125 Ladibug: Ultra-Light HD Document Camera with 30fps by Sonya Lewis

Good. My school made document cameras available to teachers a few years ago. Unfortunately, store-bought devices are cheap, difficult/cumbersome to use, and prone to breakage. So I gave mine to another teacher. Finally, last spring I spent my own money and bought this ladybug on the recommendation of another teacher who has been using it for about a year. Wow! I opened the shipping box and saw a very well packaged, BEAUTIFUL, durable product. It was perfect in every way. When I got to school the next day I followed the simple instructions and successfully connected it to my laptop which in turn was connected to my Smart Board projector. There are two connectors: power cord and USB cable. No problem! The installation and use of the ladybug is very intuitive. It comes with simple printed instructions for easy setup, and once installed, a shortcut will be placed on your desktop. With this shortcut you activate your ladybug whenever you want to use it. When using the ladybug, a small menu grid is easily accessible on the screen. This is a set of "buttons" that gives you access to many of the device's features. You can move and collapse this grid as needed. Many functions are included, such as focus, exposure, contrast, photo, zoom and more. I'm still learning what all the buttons do and how to use them! My fourth graders helped me learn some of the basic functions of a ladybug - that's how intuitive and quick-witted nine-year-olds are! The flexible gooseneck ladybug is beautiful! This allows you to point your head in absolutely ANY direction for the best view. The base is well weighted and heavy enough to keep the device stable in any position. There are two focus buttons on the head, one on each side and another on the base. There are three more buttons on the base, but as I said, I'm still learning how to use all of my ladybug's functions. And color! Red is perfect, especially since my school colors are RED and white! :) Also, red just looks good. I really enjoyed using my ladybug in class. Not only can I project worksheets, photos, illustrations, passages of text, student samples and objects for the whole class onto the Smart Board, I can also demonstrate very clearly to my students how to write on lined paper, how to fill in forms, how to use handwriting and italic letters, how to indent and write in paragraph form, and how to correctly space mathematical calculations. Now when I read a picture book to my class, EVERYONE sees the pictures, not just those sitting next to me. My students also enjoy sharing their work and "treasures" with the class using a ladybug. We ALL love it! The document camera has practically replaced the overhead projector and can do a lot more. Ladybug is one of the best, if not the best, out there right now. I know there are other ladybug models but this one was all I needed and more. I highly recommend it!
