Review on ๐Ÿšด Maxxis Padrone Dual Compound SS Tubeless Ready Folding Bead 170TPI Bicycle Tire - Premium Performance for Road Cycling by David Gagnon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

They offer a great ride and the high TPI offers flexibility.

Purchased 2 years ago. I ride them for one season and then swap them front to back for another season. I drive about 1500 miles a year so 3000 miles and 2 seasons is enough for me. I have NO complaints about these tires. They offer a great ride and the high TPI makes for a smooth ride too. One observation I'd like to share is that they're easier to sit on than the tubeless tires I've had on my Specialized bike, but not by much. I've found the way to deal with this is to use my compressor to seat the tire. I also pull on the stem to seat the tire. Once you've pumped up a tire and it's dry it will hold the sealant when you change stems and inflate again. I have not been able to fit a tubeless tire (ANY tire) with a floor pump or CO2 truck. Damn. The good news is that in 2 years of driving on country roads I didn't have a single apartment either.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • No instructions
