These drills are as durable as colored pencil drills.

When I first tried one of these steel drill bits I used them with Tapmatic Gold #1 cutting oil. The drill began to crumble before I could make a pilot hole. And when I say it crumbled, it crumbled. When I drilled the 1/32" hole, the bit was half its original length. This set comes in 300 pieces for only $40, so I can't say I'm surprised by the quality. Be aware that you shouldn't buy this set if you want quality bits. While I will say that I was able to drill through brass very well with these metal bits, it doesn't really say much, it's brass.
