Works for a while, then heats up

We use it in our jeep to keep my husband's sea cover in place. After a few months he started folding. Our Jeep is all black and the heat is clearly affecting this mat, but we were hoping it would withstand the heat considering it's made for cars. Now it slips a bit because some of the edges are crumpled. Damn.

Pros

Non-magnetic, requires no glue or glue, sticks to almost any surface; It can be directly pasted on cars, trucks, SUVs, etc. Heat resistant, it can also be used in the bathroom, kitchen or office.
