Review on UWAYKEY Bluetooth Amplifier Channel Output Home Audio by Jim Chick

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad, but not for a subwoofer. Too smart for your own good

So these little amplifier boards are pretty fun. You can cobble together amazingly powerful sound support for almost no money, but this ended up not working where I was hoping it would. While there are both active (screw terminals) and line outputs, they are never active at the same time. Both 3.5 mm jacks switch automatically; Therefore, when a cable is plugged into the line out, the speakers will be disabled. This was a bummer as I was hoping to use the line out to power a powered subwoofer I pulled from an old mini surround system. This appears to be for headphones, so assumes you don't want the speakers active when the jack is occupied. Likewise, plugging a 3.5mm cable into the front jack automatically switches the source (with a fun Chinese-accented verbal prompt). It also immediately disables Bluetooth radio (downloading any connection), which is definitely inconvenient since you have to physically disconnect the line-in and reconnect the Bluetooth device to resume Bluetooth playback. There is a bit of Bluetooth latency (which was odd). absent on a similar board I've tried before), but within the range of your TV/receiver's audio delay settings if you're using one there. .great, actually. I am still impressed by these small class D solid state amplifiers for moderate use, such as small hi-fi speakers. or avoid the TV's internal speakers. With things like this, I don't know why you would ever buy a soundbar or bluetooth speaker. Just go with this stuff and literally any decent driver and enjoy 1000% better sound.

Pros
  • How many audio input modes are there?
