This is a really cool and interesting game! I wasn't sure what to expect based on the packaging and description, but unlike other gadget-based games I've played (like the classic Mousetrap from my youth), this is more of a cooperative game. There are 4 strands that move the (clearly Mission Impossible-inspired) floating character across the playfield, and proper navigation requires careful dragging and releasing of each as a group effort, much like a puppet hitting a corporate team building. There are some things that need to be done like removing security cameras and traps, but the truth is that the real fun doesn't start until you open the jewel cage. once it opens) and the police car will start driving slowly around the board. If you make it to the Gem Getaway Car before the car blocks your way, you win! However, if you are late, the police car will stop and block your way. The fun begins when players panic and lose their composure, and by the end, whether you do it or not, things get exciting. What I like about the game: - It's cooperative, not individual. This way you don't "beat" the other player, you work as a team to complete the task on time - The mechanical game board is unique and a lot of fun to learn - It requires NO batteries! The board uses spring-loaded timers without power when needed. It's cool in a decidedly analog sense. - People can go and watch it being played and join in with very little guidance. Not though, for example:- The truth is that when playing with my kids we skipped the first part of the game and just went to the jewel part. The developers of this game tried to make it longer by adding defuse traps and pulling out security cameras in a certain order based on the maps, but after a few rounds it seemed boring. The most interesting part is actually the ending. The rumbling police car gives a sense of danger and urgency which is fun. This little spy hangs on ropes that get tangled so quickly and easily. It feels like I'm sneezing and they're intertwined. Out of the box I had to take the time to crank it up before we played it the first time, so be careful. That being said, the game is great fun for different age groups, and in fact we've had guests who have checked it out and wanted to play too (adults and children). Everyone was asking where to get it so it would be a common sight in our area. I would say that it deserves 5 stars, the game has not attracted so much interest for a long time, which was not on the screen.
