I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. I didn’t know what to expect. I was so impressed with the quality. It’s heavy, beautiful, and unique. The perfect gift. I love the case it came in- however my one complaint is the plastic on the inside of the case could be much higher quality. It breaks easy and is super cheap material. Other than that- the set is fantastic!

I bought this set as a gift. It's a nice set if you plan on leaving the board on display without the box. The pieces are a good size and weight, although I wish they had felt on the bottom to protect the board, which they do not. The display case that they came with, however, is horrible. It's cheaply made, the pieces barely fit in the case provided for them and it is flimsy. I would not use it to protect your pieces. The pieces and board are actually very nice. However for an avid player this is a waste of money. The pieces are much larger than a standard size but the board is actually SMALLER than a standard size board. Our $40 wood board set is actually larger and thus we use it instead. The board supplied is so small that the pieces are too close together and makes gameplay frustrating.I wish the board was larger to accommodate the larger pieces.

Beautiful set. Bought for my son. One piece was broken. Contacted customer service from enclosed card and they responded immediately and sent a replacement. Hope my boy will keep this for as long as possible. The board and pieces are heavy and that helps with concentration when playing a game. That may sound strange but it works for us. No distractions. The chess board and pieces are beautiful but the box seems very cheap, the pieces don’t fit well in it, and it won’t close when they are in. Is it possible to return the box only for a partial refund? I will be getting a separate case elsewhere.

The product, as you may imagine, even though it was amazingly wrapped with styrofoam and an overabundance of tape, was vulnerable to get damaged. It is stone, after all. Since it was made of natural materials, there were some microcracks. At first glance the gift box seems really nice but when I took a closer look there was crumbs, dirt, and debre on the cloth. Also there was stains on the bottom, possibly glue? There other thing I didn't like was the fact the pieces don't fit well in the case. The case also doesn't close very nicely. Great product. Looks nice enough to leave out as a display set and can still be used with out feeling too guilty. The set comes in a nice case, no defects, no missing pieces. Heavy, but mobile enough.A great pick up for the price point. WARNING: The pieces are fragile, the kings and queens in particular being the largest. I have broken a few from relatively small falls. Have two sets for Christmas presents so not fully opened but they look great. One is for my son and I am sure he will be thrilled. The other is for my son in law ,an aspiring attorney who I feel will keep it at work to show off. You know what lawyers are like. Anything to justify charges. When I purchased this item, the quality and craftsmanship were highly achieved. Every piece and board are well-made with a nice heavy weight too it. Makes playing chess feels good. Even the carrying case is nice!
